I've been wanting to paint Persephone properly ever since I did this commission for =Higure-no-Hikari. About the colours of the dress: the ancient Greeks used to dye wedding gowns with saffron, hence the orange, whereas purple is a mourning colour. Thought it seemed suitable for the bride of Pluto.
