Her character Hikari, with a field of poppies in the background. The ancient Greeks considered poppies a symbol of Demeter, the mother of Persephone, and the opium poppy, Papaver somniferum is the source in the modern day of morphine and heroin, amongst other drugs, as well as representing those who die in war. ...I really need to stop over-thinking all this flower symbolism, don't I? Anyway. ~5 hours, Photoshop CS2, barely photo-referenced. |
